Frequently Asked Questions

How does having a mobile spray tan work?
The portability of our equipment allows  us to perform your spray tan in a variety of places, including your home or place of work, our only requirement is a working plug socket.

We will carefully assess your skin type during the consultation, before spraying your body with a fine mist of tanning solution.

Your tan is expertly applied by our professionally trained and accredited technician. Depending on the solution used, your technician will advise how long to wait before rinsing.

The actual tanning part only takes 10 minutes, it's very quick.

After rinsing you will be left with a tan that lasts around 5 - 10 days
The geeky bit - how it changes the colour of your skin
The ingredient that causes the skin to tan is DHA or dihydroxyacetone. This ingredient is 100% natural and is derived from sugar cane. When applied to the skin it reacts with the epidermis (the outer layer of skin) to produce a golden brown 'tanned' colour. The higher concentration of DHA the deeper the tan. The solution works with your skins own natural pigmentation meaning you will always achieve a natural colour and will get the same results you would naturally in the sun.
Why have a spray tan at home?
  • No need for childcare, we understand if you have little ones present whilst tanning, its not a problem
  • No battling the outdoor elements in your freshly applied tan
  • No rushing to get clothed and potentially ruining your tan before you've left the salon
  • Evening appointments available
What should i wear during my spray tan?
During tanning you will be asked to stand in various positions designed to ensure an even tan. We're happy for females to go naked should they wish to do so, however if you feel more comfortable in a two piece bathing suit that is absolutely fine too. We also offer disposable pants. We're more then happy to tan men,  men require underpants as minimum.
How much space is required for a spray tan at home and is it messy?
Surprisingly  we don't need much space, our pop up tents have managed to fit in some snug spaces, its room height that can be more of an issues with some of the lovely old Cornish cottages. We're yet to attend a home we couldn't squeeze into somehow.

We use a HVLP machine to apply your tan, it provides a very precise spray, generally over spray is caught in the tent. However, in the unlikely event you do find a light misting on furniture, our solutions are water soluble and will wash off with a little warm soapy water.
How long does the tan take to develop?
Although you can rinse your spray tan off within 1-8 hours, it takes 24 hours after application to be fully developed. We advise for special occasions having your spray tan applied 48 hours before the event.
Are your products suitable for vegans?
Yes, everything we use is vegan friendly and cruelty free.
I have fair skin, will i look orange?
No, definitely not! We don't do orange! An Orange looking tan is generally a result of using the wrong shade of solution for your skin tone. We will discuss your skin type and tan goal prior to spraying, ensuring the right solution is chosen for your tan.
Will i get tan on my clothing?
Whilst your spray tan is developing, there is a layer of bronzer that sits on top of your skin (this is so we can see where we are spraying) which can transfer onto clothing, bedding and furniture. For this reason, we recommend wearing old dark clothing and popping a towel on your sofa to sit on. Once showered, the bronzer will be removed and your tan will not transfer.
How long will my spray tan last?
Your tan can last anywhere between 5-10 days. How long it lasts, is down to how well you prepped your skin before your tan and how well you care for your tan afterwards. Following our pre-tan and after-tan advice will help.
Does spray tan stop you getting a natural tan?
No you still need to use a SPF to protect your skin from the damaging effects of the sun.
Can I get a spray tan the same time as other beauty treatments?
It is not recommended to have a spray tan on the same day as the following treatments;
  • Massage
  • Facials
  • Manicures - A gel polish colour or extensions are fine
  • Pedicures - A gel polish colour is fine
  • Waxing
  • Tinting
All other treatments, like lash extensions or nail extensions are fine to have the same day as a spray tan, it is advisable to have these done prior to your tan.
If I don't like my spray tan, can it be removed?
No, because your tan is a reaction between the DHA and amino acids in the skin, the only way it comes off is when your skin starts to shed. You can aid the process by exfoliating and bathing
Is Spray tanning safe?
Yes, DHA the ingredient that reacts .....to generate the tanned skin, is derived from glycerin, an ingredient commonly used in cosmetics and food. Its non-toxic and the body does not absorb it into the blood stream.

The great news is DHA spray tanning has been recognized and recommended by many governing bodies including the Skin Cancer Organization.
sunburn and spray tans
We don't advise having a spray tan over sunburn. As your skin peels so will your tan, which will result in a uneven patchy look.
